Health & Safety Coordinator
The Health & Safety Coordinator is part of the Human Resources department and reports to the HR Manager.
His/her main function is to ensure the health and safety of employees and contribute to the improvement of working conditions within stores and/or head office.
Areas of responsibilities
- Unique Risk Assessment Document
- Designs the Unique Risk Assessment Document (DUER)
- Trains (store) managers in the DUER
- Ensures that the DUER is updated and the action plan is implemented
- Accidents in the workplace
- Analyses and formalises each accident in the workplace and submits recommendations
- Suggests recommendations for improvements in order to reduce the number of accidents in the workplace
- Health & Safety conditions
- Suggests recommendations for improvement
- Coordinates the monitoring of the implementation of action plans
- Carries out a regulatory, standards and technology oversight and ensures that they are applied
- Participates in establishing a risk prevention plan
- Ensures that information and recommendations are regularly distributed
- Relationship management
- Participates in maintaining good relationships and effective coordination with local authorities in matters of health and safety at work such as CARSAT, DIRECCTE, SSTs
- Offers a training, advisory and support role for stores
- Works with the HR team (such as HR Advisors) and store operations team (such as regional managers) to keep them informed and to discuss current issues in the region
Requirements
- Good communicator / very good interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel / anticipated travel several nights per week
- Within the scope of the role, actively identifies the desires and needs of internal clients and goes over and above internal client expectations
- Submits suggestions to organise processes effectively regarding health and safety at work
- Works effectively with others in order to meet common objectives, seeks cooperation
- Very well organised, capable of structuring activities and projects, meets commitments within given deadlines and complies with directives
- Shows that less can also mean more by simplifying processes and activities where possible.
