Price Checker
The Price Checker is part of the Commercial Development department and reports directly to the Pricing manager. Main focus: monitoring and measuring the assortment of Action and its competitors and value by providing market data.
This role is responsible for monitoring and measuring Action stores and Action’s key competitors across our international markets, including insights of the products and prices. By improving the price measurements the Price Checker contribute to our sustainable Global #1 reputation for low prices in every operating market.
In addition, the Price Checker will provide commercial insights from competition like promotions, presentations, and format changes.
Areas of responsibility
Price Measurement
- Independent visits of key competition stores;
- Capture prices and specifications of products requested using a mobile application;
- Contribute to the development of a reliable, sustainable and efficient price measurement.
Competition format check
- Provide commercial insights of the competition and retail market;
- Perform store visits to collect the latest information available on promotions, (seasonal) presentations, product information, format changes and other relevant commercial developments;
- Contribute to the development of an efficient competition comparison program.
Action format check
- Perform checks in Action stores on commercial format, (temporary) presentations and other commercial activities.
Requirements - Hard skills
- Speaks and writes English as well as the local languages;
- Min. of 1 year of experience within Action in a role as (assistant) store manager;
- Knowledge of retail dynamics and store formats;

- Is very organized, has a sharp eye for detail;
- Ability to function in a highly dynamic environment;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
- Able to work independent;
- Works efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure;
- Make proposals for efficient and effective working methods with the least possible complexity;
- Demonstrates a high level of pragmatism;
- Works effectively with others to achieve common goals. Is positive and helpful to colleagues, takes over work or supports them when necessary, and ask colleagues for help when needed.
